ERC HEARING 3 Engr. Ben Anatan carried the day for all present in this third ERC hearing on PECO-PEDC's petition to amend the existing PECO-PPC electric power purchase agreement (EPPC). Called by AllPinoy to the witness stand, Engr. Anatan made a brilliant presentation, logical, reasonable, and obviously neither pro nor anti anyone or anything. Just the facts and what's best for Iloilo City and Ilonggos. Kudos to Engr. Bienvenido Anatan - his name is Spanish for WELCOME - indeed a welcome viewpoint from an industry expert! Allen Berry Suga Aquino, a good friend and former PECO employee says Engr. Anatan was likewise a former employee and, in fact was the leader of the team that studied and implemented changes and upgrades to make PECO compliant with new ERC requirements and guidelines. Allegedly, Engr. Randy Pastolero who is currently PECO's Operations Chief was Engr. Anatan's mentee. The ERC hearing was scheduled to end 5:00 PM, but the venerable ERC Commissioner hearing the case was enthralled by the presentation and found it meaty that he didn't make a move to stop Engr. Anatan despite the scheduled continuation of the hearing the following day. So Engr. Anatan finished at precisely 6:00 PM with everyone in the room heaving a sigh of relief. At last, here is an expert witness on the side of the consumer who knows his figures and has put across powerfully persuasive suggestions and recommendation. Interestingly, the Honorable Commissioner mentioned of a 4th hearing to be held in Makati at the conclusion of the 2nd hearing, but wrapped it up at the end of this 3rd hearing. Thanks to the clear presentation of AllPinoy's witness, the ERC team felt they have gathered sufficient data and arguments for and against the petition to make a wise, informed decision.
